Damaged photographs were carefully restored, colorized, and enhanced to their original brilliance, while the use of 3D depth mapping elevated flat images into immersive, cinematic experiences. These technological innovations combined to create a tribute as vibrant as Esty herself, celebrating her love for dancing and her ability to captivate any room she entered.

This project stands out as one of our most technically ambitious to date, featuring a groundbreaking facial animation technique developed in-house. Using AI to map an actor's facial movements captured via webcam onto a photograph, we refined the animations with proprietary software for a lifelike result. Edwin's voice was central to the tribute: we restored an 8-minute recording of him recounting the "lights over Nevada" using advanced audio editing, then modeled an AI version of his voice to read a heartfelt letter he had written to his family.

The project also showcased extensive use of parallax and 3D depth mapping, creating immersive visuals from still images, while expert audio engineering blended the restored recordings and music seamlessly. This tribute combined cutting-edge technology with Edwin's words and stories, delivering an unforgettable and deeply personal memorial.

Instead of simply fading songs in and out, we precisely cut specific verses and sections from the family's chosen music to create a cohesive and emotionally resonant experience. Because Hunter passed so young, the family opted to forgo a celebratory dance section, focusing instead on a somber and heartfelt tone. Despite an extreme time crunch, we sourced footage from social media and gathered photos through email and cloud services, allowing friends and family across the U.S. to contribute quickly. The full video concludes with drone footage we captured of Hunter's journey to his final resting.
